The enemy wants nothing more than to derail us from God’s plans and he does this by whispering lies such as “You’re not equipped to make a difference.” “You have nothing special to offer.” “Your sordid past disqualifies you.” And so on. But God tells us differently in Joshua 1:9. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
God has a plan, a special plan for each and every one of us. If you’re not sure of His plan for you, then consider some of the desires in your heart. Consider dreams and interests that set you apart. Or things you are so passionate about that time flies when you’re engaged in them; things so exciting, they light you up. These are God’s plans and He has placed the desire uniquely in your heart.
He has called you by your name and you are His. “But now, this is what the Lord says—He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:1-2
Start walking in your God-given purpose and trust Him. Do not fear nor be dismayed because He has promised that He is with us and He has freed us from the snare of the enemy. The next time you feel inadequate or insufficient, remember you were created by the Perfect One who makes no mistakes.
